One of our Week 3 assignments in
BaW09 was to create a podcast. As I have said
before, I hate listening to my own voice. Maybe the medium takes a little time to get used to, but I am just not comfortable with audio. I got all confused at the end (plus my microphone is bad), but I decided to post it anyway. So, here it is. Don't laugh.
I know it would be really useful to be able to create your own listening exercises. As I have said, maybe I'll get used to it in time (though i doubt it). Or maybe I'll wait till BaW09 to create my second podcast.

Hello Natasa,
ReplyDeleteYour voice is really nice to listen to. I also had this problem at the beginning. Nowadays is not that I like that much to listen to my own voice, but I guess I did get used to it like you sometimes get used to bad music (he,he,he).
Again your voice is really nice. I am sure you will be addicted to podcastin.
Hugs
Hi Jose Antonio,
ReplyDeleteThank you for these words of encouragement. It is really funny to listen to your own voice for the first time the way other people hear it. Then I have this problem while I am speaking into the microphone - I get all confused. It is like stage fright. I know I'll get used to it - podcasts are a great tool and it's a pity not to use them.
Once again, thank you very much.
Natasa
Natasa,
ReplyDeleteThere is absolutely nothing wrong with your great voice. I enjoyed listening to you and would happily listen to more podcasts. Great job.
Sharon,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. Now I will get over-confident after all this praise and create thousands of podcasts, lol. I do need a better mike, though.
Hi Natasa!
ReplyDeleteYour podcast is great! I even learned how to pronounce your name. :-)
BTW, that could be a good exercise to start in week 4, maybe with Chinswing. Everybody could say their name and where they are from.
I also hate listening to myself in a recording. I have no idea why, about 20 years ago, an American friend of my parents asked me if I'd ever worked in radio, because I had a fabulous voice for it. Duh!
Do try some listening exercises for your students. Record the audio files with Audacity. I have some in Quia. I can give you the link.
Keep up the enthusiasm and great work! :-)
Hugs, Teresa
Hi Natasa
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel - but your voice is really nice to listen too !! honestly !!
Now you've taken the plunge - you must carry on !!
bye for now
Helen in nice
Hey Natasa,
ReplyDeleteCongrat's for your baby blog!
Nice voice and hard wrok done during the wrokshop.
I know your baby toy will grow up quickly.
Hala ( Sudan)
Thank you Teresa, Helen and Hala. There is no other group in the world that can support you the way Webheads do.
ReplyDeleteTeresa, I know what confused you about my name - the way it is written. It should be Nataša, where "š" is read as "sh". So, you pronounce it Natasha. And in my language we put the accent on "Na". I think your idea for the Week 5 activity is great. And yes, I would appreciate that link.
Thank you all for your support. I wouldn't have made it this far without you.
Dear Natasa,
ReplyDeleteI did not laugh at all!!!
Your voice was very nice and I could not feel you were nervous ...
The same thing happens to me when I hear myself. I sound funny and I have to have a sort of script, otherwise I get all mixed up ... one can imagine how students might feel when recording their voice.
Great work you have started here.
Regards from another proud Webhead who is this time mostly lurking in BaW09. Cariños, Berta
Hi Berta,
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am mostly lurking in BaW this year too, but I wanted to master voice tools, because I didn't manage to do them last year.
I am on a holiday and away from my computer, so I am writing this from an Internet cafe. I am afraid I am missing Week 5 in all my EVO sessions and I'll have a lot of catching up to do when I return.
